Following a month of high-stakes one-day rallies, the 2026 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition returned to full league play on Friday, 8 May. Student athletes representing 15 schools across the islands gathered at various venues to resume their season, with matches highlighting tight margins and competitive shifts in the standings.

In the Zone A girls division, First Baptist Christian School secured a narrow 83-82 win over Red Bay Primary, while Prospect Primary and East End Primary played to a 49-run draw. Edna Moyle Primary rebounded from their previous rally performance by edging out Island Primary B, 31-30. Zone B girls saw Cayman Prep A defeat Footsteps School 75-73, while Sir John A Cumber Primary and St Ignatius Catholic recorded victories over their respective opponents.

Boys division action proved equally intense. Red Bay Primary dominated First Baptist Christian School with a 136-68 victory, and Cayman Prep A bested rally champions Footsteps School 87-66 in Zone B. St Ignatius Catholic maintained their momentum in the same zone, outscoring Cayman International School 125-93. While most fixtures proceeded as planned, the match between Cayman Academy and Marie Martin Primary was postponed.

Organized by the Department of Education Services, the Department of Sports, and the Cayman Cricket Association, the league continues through June. Teams compete in 12-over matches for boys and eight-over contests for girls, with the next round of games scheduled for Friday, 15 May.
