Dr. Hj. Aminuddin bin Hassim
Datuk Dr. Amiruddin Hassim is the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Science,Technology and Innovation(MOSTI), a position he has held since September 15, 2022. With a career spanning over 28 years, Dr. Amiruddin has held various significant roles within the Malaysian Civil Service.
His career began in 1992 as a Special Officer to the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. He then served as a Project Officer at the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), part of the Public Service Department, from 1994 to 2000. His subsequent roles included Director of Corporate Services at the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department and Vice President at Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Dr. Amiruddin returned to thepublic sectoras Director of INTAN from 2010 to 2012, followed by his role as Director of the National Strategy Unit in the Ministry of Finance until 2018. He then served as President of Putrajaya Corporation before becoming the Director General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) in 2020.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Town Planning Studies, a Master of Science in Information Technology forManufacture, and a Doctorate in Environmental Economics andEnvironmental Management. His extensive experience in public service and management has contributed significantly to Malaysia's development in various sectors.
Dr. Amiruddin’s appointment as Secretary-General of MOSTI underscores his substantialexpertise and leadershipin advancing Malaysia’s science and technology agenda.
