Yossi Gal
Yossi Gal is the Vice President for University Advancement and External Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. With a distinguished career in diplomacy, he served as Israel's Ambassador to France and Monaco from 2010 to 2015 and as Ambassador to the Netherlands from 1995 to 2001. He has played a crucial role in fostering Israel's accession to the OECD and strengthening ties between Israel and the European Union. As Director General of Economic Affairs, he contributed significantly to the bilateral peace negotiations between Palestinians and Jordanians, enhancing Israel's international relations.
Gal's contributions extend beyond diplomacy to academia, where he supports Hebrew University's mission to advance research and education. He has been instrumental in raising funds for students, especially those on active military duty, ensuring they receive necessary scholarships. In recognition of his efforts, France honoured him as a Commander of the Legion of Honour in 2016.
