Peter Jarich

Peter Jarich is the Head of GSMA Intelligence, a division of theGSMA. He leads a team of over 40 analysts, shaping the content and research agenda for theglobal mobile industry. His work focuses on creating insights into market trends and developing research on critical topics such as 5G, IoT, telecom network transformation, spectrum dynamics, and digital consumer demand. Peter also mentors his team, encouraging leadership and analytical skills, and maintains GSMA Intelligence’s position as a leading research provider for over 400 mobile operators worldwide.

Peter has played a significant role in shaping GSMA Intelligence’s commercial and content strategy. He has expanded its custom consulting services and research report offerings while representing GSMA Intelligence incustomer engagements, media interactions, and thought leadership initiatives. His key focus areas include Open RAN, private wireless networks, edge networking, and public-cloud use cases.

Peter began his career as Director of Strategic Marketing at Adaptive Broadband, a fixed wireless infrastructurestart-up. In this role, he managed product positioning, customer requirement research, and trade show presentations. He then joined The Strategis Group as Director of Broadband Research, leading a team of analysts studying fixed and mobile telecom services. In 2003, Peter became Chief Analyst for Global Telecom and IT at GlobalData Technology, where he worked for 15 years. During this time, he led multiple analyst teams and introduced innovative research deliverables such as Telecom Equipment Buyer and Innovation Impact.

Peter holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) with a specialisation in International Business, Trade, and Commerce fromGeorgetown University(1995–1997). He also has a Bachelor of Arts (AB) in Economics from Cornell University (1991–1995). Peter actively supports causes related to animal welfare and science and technology innovation.
