Hasan Turunc

Hasan Turunc is Head of UK at Koç Holding and President of the London Network at the Turkish Industry and Business Association. He serves as an educator at HeadSpring, a joint venture between the Financial Times and IE Business School.

He is a member of the Confederation of British Industry’s Global Competitiveness Committee and participates in multiple global initiatives, including the Chatham House UK Role in the World Advisory Council, BusinessEurope EU-UK Task Force, B20 Task Force on Finance and Infrastructure, TheCityUK’s Turkey Market Advisory Group, and the British Chambers of Commerce in Istanbul.

Hasan previously worked for the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office in London, where he engaged with international companies and investment institutions. He was an academic fellow at the University of Oxford.

He holds a PhD and MSc from the University of London. Hasan is proficient in English, Arabic, and Portuguese. Hasan’s research addresses issues related to Turkish foreign policy, Middle East studies, economic development, and regional politics.

He has published research papers on topics including Turkey’s global strategy, economic liberalisation, class dynamics, and political culture. His publications appear in journals such asInsight Turkeyand theJournal of Contemporary European Studies.

He follows and engages with related academics and experts, including Özgür Olgun Erden (Columbia University), Evren Ho?gör (Istanbul Bilgi University), Csaba Rada (Oguzhan Goksel, Marmara University), Sabine Dreher (York University), Ceren Lord (University of Oxford), among others.
