Jannah Patchay
Jannah Patchay is a fintech expert, blockchain influencer, policy advisor and consultant, and journalist, with more than two decades of experience in Financial Markets Innovation, Digital Assets, Sustainable Finance, Policy & Regulatory Strategy, and Market Structure.
Currently she is serving as the Executive Director and Policy Lead at the Digital Pound Foundation. The Digital Pound Foundation (DPF) is an independent organisation that was incorporated on 22 June 2021 to work with a variety of stakeholders and participants towards creating a well-designed digital Pound and an effective and diverse ecosystem for new forms of digital money.
Jannah is also currently the Director and Regulatory & Market Structure Advisor of Markets Evolution, playing a key role in market structure and cross-border financial markets regulation. She is also the Product Innovation and Policy Advisor at Orora.
She has held multiple roles as a Regulatory Consultant at corporations like Icebreaker One, Natwest Markets, and RBS Global Banking and Markets. She has also managed multiple project deliveries at Agora Global Consultants, HSBC, Plus Markets Group, Rule Financial, Detica, and Accenture.
Jannah is also a member of multiple communities, including Digital Euro Association, Whitechapel Think Tank, Global Blockchain Convergence, and London Blockchain Foundation.
As a journalist, she shares her insights, research, and knowledge through Best Execution. Some of her published work includes The Ticking Clock, The Cloud Challenge, Taking the lid off crypto, and Time to Regulate.
Jannah holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Cape Town, and an LLM in International Finance and Banking Law from the University of Liverpool.
She is also a panelist and speaker at a wide range of international conferences including AFME OPTIC, Pay360, Avalanche Summit, TradeTech DigiAssets, CryptoAM, Fintech Talents Festival, Reuters Payments, MoneyNext Summit, PAY360, and many more.
Jannah has been recognised for her influence in the financial industry, including being a finalist for the CityAM/CryptoAM Influencer of the Year 2022 and inclusion in the Innovate Finance Women In Fintech 2021 Powerlist, and the 2022 Rising Women in Crypto Power List .
