Atanu Chaudhuri
Atanu Chaudhuri is a Professor of Technology and Operations Management atDurham University Business School. He has extensive experience in research and consulting, particularly in manufacturing, with a focus on areas such as digital supply chain design, additive manufacturing, and supply chain risk management. His current research covers digital models, part selection for additive manufacturing, supplier selection, and supply chain performance assessment.
Chaudhuri has contributed significantly to both academia and industry, serving as a Co-Director at the Durham University Space Research Centre (SPARC) and a Programme Director for the Executive MSc. in Supply Chain Management. He has also co-founded the Durham University Responsible Space Innovation Centre. In addition, he has held leadership roles in various research initiatives, including overseeing the ESRC NINE Doctoral Training Programme at Durham University Business School.
Previously, Atanu Chaudhuri was an Associate Professor at Aalborg University in Denmark, where he taught courses related to operations and supply chain management and supervised numerous research projects. He has been involved in global initiatives, including working as a Working Group Leader for Digital Supply Chain at MGA Mobility and MGA Medical, where he collaborated with leading companies across Europe to develop digital supply chain models.
Chaudhuri’s academic background includes a PhD from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University. His research interests include global manufacturing competitiveness, healthcare operations, and big data applications in supply chains. He has published several articles on topics like supply chain risk management, blockchain in agriculture, and healthcare 3D printing service innovation.
